How To Shield Yourself Against Cancer

In this article today I would like to discuss several tips, tricks, and techniques that almost anybody can use to help seriously shield yourself against cancer.

Unfortunately we don't have a cure for cancer yet even though we spend billions of dollars a year searching for one. I have every confidence that someday we will find a cure for this horrible disease and eradicated from the face of the planet, but until then just about the best thing we can do is focus on prevention and that's what I would like to talk about in this article today.

I don't think it's a huge leap in logic to say that you should eat less foods that have been shown to increase the risk of cancer and eat more foods that have been shown to decrease the risk of cancer but it needs to be said anyway because most people don't follow this simple rule.

But I guess before you can implement that rule you have to know which foods are good for you and which foods are bad for you.

It's not all that difficult when you get right down to it. Foods that are bad for you include most meats, most prepackaged foods, most processed foods, and any other food like this. Foods that are good for you include fruits and vegetables as well as vegetable proteins, dietary fiber, and clean and clear water.

Let's get into foods that are good for you in a little more detail. Just about all fruits and vegetables are good for you but certain ones are especially good when it comes to shielding you from cancer because they contain phytochemicals you should be eating every day if possible.

These foods include onions and garlic because they have sulfur that helps protect cells from oxidative damage. Crucifers are another great cancer shield and these include broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, brussels sprouts, and things like this. You should also eat nuts and seeds because they help block the growth of blood vessels that tumors need to get nutrients from the bloodstream.

Whole grains are also great cancer prevention foods and these include things like oats and wheats and just about any other grains that contain fiber as well as flaxseed and rye and even millet. Legumes such as beans and peas and lentils are also fantastic prevention foods. And of course we shouldn't forget fruits. Most citrus fruits are great and also blackberries and strawberries and raspberries. And don't forget tomatoes, are they a fruit or vegetable? It doesn't matter, eat them because they're great for you.

So there you have several very simple tips that you can use to help shield yourself against cancer. Yes it really can be as easy as eating the right foods but most people, on some level, already know that. It's hard to eat a healthy diet in our fast-paced world but it may be the only thing that will stop you from getting cancer.
